The TeamGroup T-Force G70 Pro is a DRAM-equipped Gen4 NVMe drive using the InnoGrit IG5236 (Rainier) controller with TLC NAND and DDR4 DRAM cache. Reads hit 7,400 MB/s on capacities from 1TB to 8TB, and writes range from 5,500 MB/s (1TB) to 6,800 MB/s (2TB). The 512GB model is more limited at 7,200/2,600 MB/s.

G70 Pro vs Cardea A440

Both have DRAM and target the premium Gen4 tier. The G70 Pro reads slightly faster (7,400 vs 7,000 MB/s) and uses a different controller platform (InnoGrit vs Phison E18). In practice, the difference between 7,000 and 7,400 MB/s sequential reads is imperceptible for most workloads. Choose whichever is priced lower.

Capacity Range

Like the A440 and MP44, the G70 Pro is available up to 8TB. Write speeds hold at 6,600 MB/s for both the 4TB and 8TB models. The 512GB model's 2,600 MB/s writes are a significant step down due to fewer NAND dies; avoid it unless you need the smallest possible capacity with DRAM. Available with both graphene and aluminum heatsink variants.

Best for: Premium Gen4 builds where DRAM matters and you want slightly higher read speeds than the Cardea A440. The 2TB model at 7,400/6,800 MB/s is the performance sweet spot.

Avoid if: The small speed advantage over the Cardea A440 isn't worth a price premium. Both are DRAM Gen4 drives; buy whichever costs less. Skip the 512GB model entirely due to the weak write speeds.
