The Samsung 9100 PRO is Samsung's Gen5 flagship SSD, built on Samsung's new Presto controller (5nm, 5-core ARM Cortex-R8). It pairs this with V-NAND V8 236-layer TLC and dedicated LPDDR4X DRAM cache that scales with capacity: 1GB (1TB), 2GB (2TB), 4GB (4TB), 8GB (8TB).

Performance

Sequential speeds are consistent across most capacities: 14,700-14,800 MB/s reads and 13,300-13,400 MB/s writes. Random I/O is where the 9100 PRO separates itself from the competition. The 4TB and 8TB models hit 2,200K/2,600K IOPS, while the 1TB and 2TB come in at 1,850K/2,600K. Those write IOPS numbers are class-leading for a consumer drive.

8TB Option
