These match the Crucial T700 exactly, which makes sense: both use the same Phison E26 platform.

The Cardea Z540 shares its controller platform with the Crucial T700, and performance numbers confirm it. The E26's strength is proven Gen5 performance with DRAM-backed consistency. Random I/O and sustained write behavior are on par with other E26-based drives. TeamGroup includes a graphene heat spreader for thermal management.

Included Heat Spreader

TeamGroup bundles a graphene heat spreader with the Z540. Gen5 drives running on the Phison E26 require cooling under sustained load, and the graphene material reduces temperatures by 3-5 degrees Celsius over a bare drive. If your motherboard has its own M.2 heatsink, the bundled one may need to be removed.

Avoid if: You want the latest Gen5 speeds. The T705 and T710 have moved past the E26's 12,400 MB/s ceiling. If pricing is similar, the Crucial T705 (14,500 MB/s reads) is the better buy.
