TeamGroup NV5000 - M.2 PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD - 2TB

The TeamGroup NV5000 is an entry-level Gen4 NVMe drive using a Realtek RTS5772DL controller. It's DRAMless and limited to just two capacities on our site: 1TB (4,500/1,900 MB/s) and 2TB (5,000/3,000 MB/s). The write speeds are the issue here. At 1,900 MB/s on the 1TB, writes are barely faster than a good SATA SSD.

The NV5000's positioning is clear: cheapest Gen4 NVMe drive TeamGroup offers. The read speeds are acceptable, but the write speeds are the slowest in the Gen4 category. The three-year warranty (versus five years on the MP44 and MP44L) underscores the budget positioning. Tom's Hardware rated it 1.5/5 in their review, citing poor sustained performance and power efficiency.

Most modern NVMe drives ship with five-year warranties. The NV5000's three-year coverage signals lower-grade components.

Endurance

320 TBW (1TB), 640 TBW (2TB). Three-year limited warranty.

Best for: Absolute budget builds where any Gen4 NVMe is the goal and write speed doesn't matter. Read-heavy secondary storage. Systems where the M.2 slot would otherwise sit empty.

Avoid if: You have any budget flexibility at all. The MP44L costs modestly more and delivers substantially better write speeds with a five-year warranty. The NV5000's 1,900 MB/s writes on the 1TB model make it hard to recommend over the competition.
