Corsair Vengeance DDR4-2666 SO-DIMM runs at 2666MHz CL18-19-19-39 at 1.2V. This is the most common DDR4 speed tier for laptops from the 2018-2020 era and the default memory speed for 8th-gen Intel and many AMD Ryzen mobile platforms.

The Default DDR4 Laptop Speed

2666MHz became the mainstream DDR4 speed for laptops with Intel's 8th-gen Coffee Lake mobile processors and has remained the standard configuration for most non-gaming laptops since. If you're upgrading or adding memory to a laptop from this era, DDR4-2666 is almost certainly what it shipped with and what it expects.

Effective latency at CL18/2666MHz is about 13.5ns. The bandwidth bump over 2400MHz is measurable in synthetic benchmarks but rarely noticeable in typical laptop workloads. For systems that support 3200MHz, the jump to DDR4-3200 is more meaningful.

Best for: Memory upgrades for 8th-gen+ Intel and AMD Ryzen mobile laptops, Intel NUC kits, and compact systems that default to DDR4-2666.

Avoid if: Your laptop supports DDR4-3200. The price difference is usually negligible and you get a meaningful bandwidth increase.
