The Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3600MHz is a well-established DDR4 kit that sits at the practical performance ceiling for most DDR4 platforms. The low-profile aluminum heatspreader keeps it under 34mm tall, which matters for systems with large CPU coolers or tight clearance.

Specs and Performance

Timings are CL18-22-22-42 at 1.35V, activated via XMP 2.0. The native SPD speed is 2133MHz; 3600MHz with these timings requires enabling XMP in BIOS. 288-pin UDIMM, compatible with any DDR4 desktop platform.

At CL18 / 3600MHz, effective latency is roughly 10.0ns. That's competitive with many DDR5-6000 CL36 kits on an absolute basis, which helps explain why DDR4 platforms haven't been completely left behind for latency-sensitive workloads.

DDR4 3600MHz hits the sweet spot for AMD Ryzen 3000 and 5000 series platforms: the memory controller's Infinity Fabric clock runs at 1800MHz (half the data rate), and synchronizing the fabric to the memory bus at 3600MHz gives measurably better performance than running 3200MHz or mixed ratios.

Form Factor

The LPX profile specifically targets mini-ITX and small tower builds where cooler clearance is limited. Full-size coolers like the Noctua NH-D15 can interfere with standard-height DDR4 modules on many Z490/B550/X570 boards. LPX clears those.

Limitations

This is DDR4. It doesn't work in DDR5-only platforms (AM5, Intel DDR5 boards). If you're building new, check whether your board supports DDR4 or DDR5. Lifetime warranty from Corsair.

Best for: AM4 (Ryzen 3000/5000) builds, LGA1700 DDR4 boards, or any system with clearance-restricted CPU coolers where standard-height memory won't fit.

Avoid if: You're building on AM5 or a DDR5-only Intel board, or if your system requires ECC memory.
