The Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5 6000MT/s CL40 is the entry point into Corsair's RGB DDR5 line at the 6000MT/s speed tier. It runs DDR5-6000 with CL40 timings and adds ten-zone addressable RGB lighting per module via Corsair's iCUE software.

Specs and Performance

Tested timings are 40-40-40-77 at 1.35V, running at 6000MT/s via Intel XMP 3.0. The base SPD speed is 4800MT/s at 1.1V, so reaching 6000MT/s requires enabling XMP in BIOS. Compatible Intel platforms include 600, 700, and 800 series motherboards.

At CL40 / 6000MT/s, the effective latency is about 13.3ns, a clear step down from the CL36 and CL30 variants at the same speed. You're getting the bandwidth of 6000MT/s but without the tight timings that the pricier Vengeance kits offer.

The RGB Factor

The iCUE RGB lighting requires iCUE software on Windows. On Linux-based systems (Proxmox, TrueNAS, unRAID), the LEDs will illuminate at a default pattern with no software control.

Limitations

CL40 at 6000MT/s is the loosest timing option at this speed tier. Corsair sells the same DDR5-6000 in CL36 and CL30 variants with meaningfully tighter latency. If you are picking 6000MT/s specifically for performance, CL40 is the wrong choice within this lineup.

Best for: Builds on Intel 600/700/800 series platforms where 6000MT/s speeds are wanted with RGB aesthetics, and latency sensitivity is secondary.
