Corsair Vengeance DDR5 5200MT/s CL40 - 32GB (2x16GB) White

The Corsair Vengeance DDR5 5200MT/s CL40 is a non-RGB DDR5 kit running one step above the 4800MT/s JEDEC baseline. It targets builds that want slightly more headroom than stock DDR5 without committing to a full 6000MT/s overclock.

Specs and Performance

Tested timings are 40-40-40-77 at 1.25V, activated via Intel XMP 3.0. The SPD fallback is 4800MT/s at 1.1V. Form factor is 288-pin UDIMM with an aluminum heatspreader.

At CL40 / 5200MT/s, effective latency is approximately 15.4ns, better than the 4800MT/s CL40 kit (~16.7ns), but noticeably behind the DDR5-6000 CL36 kits (~12.0ns). The bandwidth gain over 4800MT/s is modest.

The Case For 5200MT/s

5200MT/s occupies an awkward position in the DDR5 lineup. It's fast enough to require XMP, but not fast enough to exploit what DDR5-capable platforms can do. The main reason to pick this speed tier is compatibility. Some early DDR5 platforms (certain B660/H670 boards) have memory controller limitations that make DDR5-6000 unstable, while 5200MT/s runs without issues. If stability matters more than peak performance on an older or budget DDR5 board, 5200MT/s is a reasonable landing spot.

XMP 3.0 only, no AMD EXPO support. Ryzen AM5 users targeting the 6000MT/s sweet spot for Infinity Fabric synchronization should look at the higher-speed Vengeance kits with EXPO profiles.

Non-ECC and unbuffered.

Best for: Older DDR5 platforms (early 12th gen Intel boards) where the memory controller is finicky at 6000MT/s, or builders who want a reliable XMP-capable kit above JEDEC spec without pushing the platform hard.

Avoid if: Your board reliably supports DDR5-6000 (most modern ones do). The jump to 6000MT/s CL36 gives significantly better latency for a small price difference.
